We are going to compete again – this time at Mavericks on Rideau for the Landmark Entertainment (LME) Battle of the Bands – and we’re in this one to win! LME has put up some outstanding prizes for the winning band so we’re going to bring everything we’ve got to this battle.

There are 26 bands over 3 days, so the competition is fierce! We are playing on the 9th of July, cover is $12.00 ($14.00 at the door) and tickets are available from everyone in the band. This one is ALL AGES. We’ll let you know our time slot once it is confirmed!

The Queen is coming for Canada Day - so we’ll be celebrating by playing somewhere in the city all day! Just East of Parliament Hill in the Market, (a 5 minute walk) we’ll be at the Rainbow at 76 Murray St, from 1 – 4 pm. $3.00 cover. Then, we’ll be packing up and moving west to Andrew Hayden Park (Carling at Moodie), for the Canada Day Festival where we will be playing a full hour on a great stage from 7 – 8 pm – and best of all this one is free and comes with fireworks afterwords.

We’ve been selected as one of 20 bands that will participate in the Battle of the Bands leading to a great prize package and a prime Canada Day spot on the Mattamy Home stage in Barrhaven. If we win, we’ll continue on to the the semi-finals (and hopefully the finals) that will be held in June.

So mark your calendars – we’ll be playing at Greenfields Pub on Greenbank, Wednesday May 19th. This is an ALL AGES event; Greenfields features excellent food and the best stage in Ottawa. Plus, even though its a weeknight, we should be done early enough for teens in school and working parents alike!

Check out the event pages on Facebook, and Virgin Radio!

It was a close battle between four outstanding bands, but Kinnexa Cross were chosen as the winner of the "Band 2Gether 4 A Wish" battle of the bands. We will be sure to put that prize of free recording time to good use! Expect some video of the event to be uploaded in the near future.

Huge thanks to Algonquin College and their Event Management Program, Greenfields pub, Bruce Valeriani of Blue Bear Sound, Woody and the Chixie Dicks and all the other competing bands (Keek, Forbidden Dream and 2 Weeks Notice). We all had a blast, and a lot of money was raised for the Children's Wish Foundation.
